Meiji Shrine

Meiji Shrine is a shrine dedicated to the deified spirits of Emperor Meiji and his consort, Empress Shoken. Located just beside the JR Yamanote Line's busy Harajuku Station, The shrine was completed and dedicated to the Emperor Meiji and the Empress Shoken in 1920 which was destroyed during the WW2 and rebuilt again.

UEno park

Ueno Park is a large public park next to Ueno Station in central Tokyo. The park grounds were originally part of Kaneiji Temple, one of the city's largest and wealthiest temples and a family temple of the ruling Tokugawa clan during the Edo Period. Kaneiji stood in the northeast of the capital to protect the city from evil, much like Enryakuji Temple in Kyoto.

Koishikawa Korakuen Garden

Korakuen is one of Tokyo's oldest and best Japanese gardens.

It was built in the early Edo Period (1600-1867) at the Tokyo residence of the Mito branch of the ruling Tokugawa family.

GION

Gion is Kyoto's most famous geisha district, located around Shijo Avenue between Yasaka Shrine in the east and the Kamo River in the west. It is filled with shops, restaurants and ochaya (teahouses), where geiko (Kyoto dialect for geisha) and maiko (geiko apprentices) entertain.

Arashiyama
Bamboo Forest Street

Arashiyama is a pleasant, touristy district in the western outskirts of Kyoto. It is a popular destination since the Heian Period (794 - 1185), when nobles would enjoy its natural setting. Arashiyama is particularly popular during the cherry blossom and fall season. It has many landmarks, famous bamboo groves, Tenryuji Temple in the area.

Kinkakuji Temple

Kinkakuji , Golden Pavillion is a Zen temple in northern Kyoto whose top 2 floors are completely covered in gold leaf. Formally known as Rokuonji, the temple was the retirement villa of the Shogun Ashikaga Yoshimitsu, and according to his will, it became a Zen temple of the Rinzai sect after his death in 1408.

Nijo Castle

Nijo Castle was built in 1603 as the Kyoto residence of Tokugawa Ieyasu, the first shogun of the Edo Period (1603-1867). His grandson Iemitsu completed the castle's palace buildings 23 years later and further expanded the castle by adding a five story castle keep.
